Application deadlines: Open
Scholarship Description:
Wang Guangyu’s research group is based at Cornell Medical College and Houston Methodist. This research group has three main research directions: 1. Integrating image data and omics data (especially spatial transcriptome and single cell transcriptome) by developing deep learning/machine learning algorithms and platforms to perform in-depth studies of organ development and pathology. 2. To study the impact of epigenetic regulation on development by integrating single-cell epiomics and single-cell transcriptome data. 3. To build a dynamic database of cell differentiation from single-cell data. The research of Wang Guangyu’s research group has been published in journals such as Nature Biotechnology, Nature, Nature Communication, Science Advances, Genome Biology, Circulation and Circulation Research.
Available Subjects:
- (1) Response of vegetation dynamics to climate change and human activities
- (2) Effects of night lighting on urban ecology
- (3) Impacts of climate change and forest fires on carbon and water cycling in the Amazonian tropical rainforest
Eligibility criteria:
- Postdoctoral Fellow: We are looking for researchers with an educational background in a field related to bioinformatics. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in algorithm development and analysis of high-dimensional datasets. Candidates with a PhD in biology, medicine, genomics, bioinformatics, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics or other related fields are welcome to apply.
- Students (undergraduate and postgraduate): We welcome active learners from a variety of scientific fields (including biology, medicine, statistics, engineering, etc.) who are interested in participating in research at the intersection of genomics, bioinformatics and medicine.
Application Procedure:
Please send your CV, covering letter and contact details of three referees to Dr Guangyu Wang, email: [email protected].
