Postdoctoral fellow in Bo Hu’s group, Department of Immunology, St Jude’s Children’s Hospital

Scholarship: Fully-funded
Degree: Ph.D
Nationality: International Students
Location: USA
Application deadlines: Open

Scholarship Description:

Bo Hu’s group in the Department of Immunology at St. Jude Children’s Hospital focuses on neuroimmunity and is dedicated to studying the interaction between the nervous system and the immune system in physiological and pathological processes of the body using a variety of interdisciplinary approaches, including single cell sequencing, proteomics, spatial transcriptomics, slice-scanning imaging and full-spectrum flow-through, among other cutting-edge techniques. The group is well funded and has established stable long-term collaborations with several teams.

Bo Hu received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 2013, where he worked under the supervision of Professor Richard Flavell, one of the world’s leading immunologists. He then conducted postdoctoral research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Center at Harvard University under the mentorship of Professor Bruce Spiegelman, a pioneer and leader in the field of lipid and metabolism. In recent years, Bo Hu has published several papers as first author and co-first author to elucidate novel functions and mechanisms of the immune system in metabolic diseases (Nature, 2020), tissue injury (Science, 2016) and cancer (PNAS, 2013, 2010; Nature Reviews Cancer, 2013, Cell, 2014), especially in the area of immune-neurogenic mechanisms. mechanisms, with particularly seminal results in immune-neural interactions.
