Scholarship Description:

Dr Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University. Dr Zhang received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 2020 and is an Assistant Professor at Michigan Technological University from 2020-2023.

Dr Zhang’s research interests include distributed machine learning, wireless communications, edge computing, and cybersecurity.

His research has been supported by several grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The team is well-funded and currently has three full scholarship PhD students and several half scholarship MSc students.

Dr Zhang is currently an Associate Editor of the top-tier journal IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (TVT), has served as a committee member of several international conferences and journals, and has published nearly 50 papers in international journals and conferences.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The lab seeks students with a bachelor’s degree or higher in machine learning, computer science, communications engineering, privacy security, or other related fields, a strong interest in high-quality research, good programming skills, and some knowledge of computer systems and networks. Admission is in autumn 2024, and the lab is well-funded to create multiple admissions slots.
