Scholarship Description:

Dr. Wei Wei will join the Biochemistry Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2025. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Zhejiang University in 2018 and earned his Ph.D. in Biology from Stanford University in 2022. From 2022 to 2025, he is completing postdoctoral training in the Department of Pathology at Stanford.

His research has been published in top journals as a first or corresponding author, including Nature (revealing the molecular mechanisms of taurine’s anti-obesity effects), Cell Metabolism (investigating molecular mechanisms of exercise in improving metabolism), and Nature Chemical Biology (developing techniques for analyzing secreted protein profiles in specific cell types), as well as in Diabetes and STAR Protocols. Dr. Wei’s research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of metabolic regulation, aiming to discover new metabolic pathways with translational potential.
