Scholarship Description:
NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are available at the Department of Molecular & Integrative Physiology, Elizabeth Weiser Caswell Diabetes Institute, University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The lab studies obesity, type 2 diabetes, and liver disease, focusing on liver metabolism, adipose biology, energy balance neurocircuits, and inflammatory pathways in metabolic disease.
We investigate insulin resistance, leptin resistance, epigenetic reprogramming, and epitranscriptomics (RNA m6A methylation, RNA binding proteins, RNA fate) using conditional knockout mice and AAV-mediated gene transfer to model human diseases in vivo. Advanced techniques are employed to explore underlying mechanisms.
