Scholarship Description:
Dr. Zhefan Chen is currently an assistant professor at the School of Life Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is affiliated with the CUHK Brain Research Institute. He graduated from CUHK under the supervision of Professor Ronald C. K. Chan, the dean of the School of Life Sciences, and later conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford under Professor Kevin Talbot, head of the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences.
In recent years, he has published a total of 27 papers, including two as the first author in Nature Communications, as well as in EMBO Reports, Cell Death & Disease, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, and Journal of Neurochemistry.

Available Subjects:
- The research focuses on utilizing human stem cell models, combining techniques from molecular biology, cell biology, electrophysiology, organoid culture, and bioinformatics, to investigate the mechanisms of human neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration in depth.
Eligibility criteria:
- PhD in a related field of Life Sciences or Medicine.
- Experience in stem cell culture and differentiation, electrophysiology, or bioinformatics is required.
- Diligent and practical work ethic with a strong team spirit.
- Publication experience, good communication skills, English writing ability, and strong self-motivation are essential.
