Scholarship Description:

Andy Tay obtained his Ph.D. from UCLA in 2017 and has conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford University and Imperial College London. He is currently a Presidential Young Professor and Principal Investigator at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore, leading the NUS Immuno-Engineering Lab. Dr. Tay has published extensively in top journals such as Accounts of Chemical Research, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, and more. He has received several awards, including Forbes 30 Under 30 (US/Canada, Science) and the World Economic Forum Young Scientists award. His research focuses on developing biotechnologies and materials to regulate the immune system for disease treatment, including cancer, arthritis, and lymph node regeneration.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Degree Requirement: Must have obtained or be about to obtain a Ph.D.
  • Research Background: Applicants should have a relevant background in bioengineering, biomedical science, materials science, life sciences, or immunology.
  • Research Skills: Must demonstrate independent research thinking, proficient experimental skills, and a strong team spirit; able to independently design and execute projects to drive progress.
  • Academic Achievements: Preference will be given to applicants who have published high-quality research papers as first authors in related fields.
