Scholarship Description:

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center ranks among the top 100 medical schools in the U.S., with a third-place ranking in clinical medicine (U.S. News). It is the second-largest university in the U.S. (spanning 1,900 acres) and the only comprehensive R1 university in Texas, offering undergraduate, graduate, law, and medical programs.

The lab (www.dllab.org) is hiring multiple postdoctoral researchers in genomic bioinformatics. Our research focuses on genomic data analysis and software development, particularly regarding transposable elements and viral genome insertions in the human genome. We have world-leading disease omics data, advanced high-performance computing (HPC) resources, and ample research funding.

We welcome applicants with experience in HPC and FASTQ data analysis, regardless of whether their research involves human diseases, animals, plants, or microbes. Candidates with bioinformatics software development or transposable element/viral insertion research experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

Outstanding postdocs may have the chance to transition to faculty positions in the planned omics precision medicine research center.
