Scholarship Description:
Dr. Zhiling Zheng graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Cornell University in 2019 and obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2023, under the supervision of Academician Omar Yaghi. In 2024, he began postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, working with Academician Klavs Jensen. Dr. Zheng focuses on research in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), high-throughput experimentation (HTE), and large language models (LLMs). He has published papers as the first author in top international journals, including JACS, Angewandte Chemie, Nature Protocols, and Nature Reviews Materials.

- The focus is on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) with synthetic chemistry to accelerate the discovery of crystalline materials (e.g., MOF/COF/ZIF) through automation and multi-agent systems. This includes exploring novel synthesis methods for new porous structures.
Eligibility criteria:
- We are an interdisciplinary research team focused on experimental synthesis, welcoming young chemists from the fields of organic chemistry, materials chemistry, and chemical engineering who are eager to learn and explore AI technologies. We also invite applicants specializing in computational chemistry who can integrate experimental data for validation.
